postdoc position GW cosmology, Swansea

Swansea Particle Physics and Cosmology Theory (PPCT) Group wishes to appoint six postdoctoral researchers to work on projects related to our STFC consolidated grant, which includes cosmology, lattice gauge theory, particle phenomenology, quantum field theory and string theory. The closing date is 11th December 2022.

One position is assigned to Theoretical Cosmology, with an emphasis on gravitational waves. The successful candidate should have expertise on this topic, broadly defined.  The postdoctoral researcher is expected to work on probing the physics of the early universe and of the dark sector with gravitational wave experiments. The Swansea group is  part of the LISA and the Einstein Telescope collaborations.

The position will be available from 1st October, 2023, and we have funding for three years. The appointment will be on the University's Grade 8 scale, with salary starting at £36,386 per annum. The position will be initially for two years, with an extension to a third year depending on scientific merit.
